BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is professional services work which involves the inspection of machinery, equipment, construction projects, state buildings and working conditions. Responsibilities include interpreting the laws, rules,regulations and policies of the Bureau of Labor Standards and enforcing safety and health standards. In addition, this position provides safety training, accident investigations when necessary, and assessing work environments to ensure property safety protocols are being followed. Positions in the classification are differentiated from Safety Compliance Officers, because the work requires consultation and advising employers in developing safety compliance programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Six (6) years of education and/or experience in health and safety, fire safety, or directly related area.
